Union Gospel Mission
Union Gospel Mission is a Vancouver-based charity, dedicated to providing hope to the hungry, hurting and homeless. Beginning as a soup kitchen in 1940, UGM has grown into one of Vancouver’s most respected non-profit organizations, helping to change hundreds of thousands of lives all over the Lower Mainland.

Elbowroom Design is privileged to enjoy a close and unique partnership with Union Gospel Mission. Essentially serving as an on-call external communications department, ERD provides UGM’s own Communications team with support on a diverse range of projects. Whether we are writing press releases, managing regular web updates, or providing graphic design services for any application, Elbowroom Design is dedicated to offering professional creative services, any day of the week.
Using video, voice and network connections, the thousand kilometer gulf between Vancovuer and Calgary is bridged daily with great success. Read what John, Manager of Communications at UGM, has to say about Elbowroom Design:
“For up to 20 hours a week, at a flat hourly rate, the instant assistance of graphic design and communications professionals is just a phone call or an email away. Their dedicated service and remarkable response time has not only lightened the workload of our staff, it has helped infuse freshness, meet deadlines, and achieve many of our department’s goals.”
One of the most successful and large-scale projects that Elbowroom has helped with has been the planning and creation of the UGM Intranet. Together with Abbotsford based web company Domain7 , Elbowroom Design has helped direct and coordinate the launch of UGM’s world-class Intranet, an efficient new web application for all employees at UGM. This year-long project has involved countless hours of planning and communication, and ERD counts itself honoured to have been a part of this project.
